First Swimming Lesson

Joshua and Kevin had a blast at Joshua's first swimming lesson. He did really well and we were both very, very proud of him. At first he wouldn't let go of Kevin's neck, but towards the end of his class Joshua was feeling a little more confident and even used the noodle. They worked on kicking, independence from the parent, putting their face in the water and using the noodle. Classes go until June. It may take another session or two before he can graduate to the next class, but as long as he's having fun and learning to be more confident in the pool we're all for it. When he's ready to graduate from "shrimps," he'll be able to:
1. Kick & paddle movements
2. Blow bubbles
3. Hold on to the edge unassisted
4. Float on back with assistance
5. Swim unassisted with adjustable back floats
6. Jump into water with assistance

"Look at Me!"

Someone was hamming it up for the camera this morning. Joshua was dancing around the kitchen earlier today and perfecting his latest face, "the tricky look." This is the look he gives us when he's usually up to no good or contemplating whether or not he's going to be a good boy or naughty.

FSU or UGA -- future Alumnus?

Girls!

Jenn, Kate and Caleb joined us for dinner last night. It was such a beautiful day, we let the kids play out front for a while. Joshua wanted to take Kate for a ride in his Jeep. At first, Kate was all for it until Joshua started driving. Joshua had his first lesson of many, women typically don’t like the way men drive!
Kate realizing she no longer has control of the situation

Joshua saying, "is this how it's going to be?"

Kate, like most women, prefers to drive herself!

After the kids played outside for a while, it was time to move onto more important things, like DINNER! Kevin and I got to see what it’s like to have two kids under the age of two. It’s not easy! Here is Jenn demonstrating her multi-tasking skills – feeding Caleb, Kate and herself all at once. We were impressed!

Jenn swearing that she's fine and that she doesn't want us to help

Jenn demonstrating how she has everything under control and she's smiling too!

Somebody Likes His Donuts

Every Sunday Joshua and I go to get donuts. We usually eat at the restaurant, but lately I've been too tired. As you can see, he really enjoys them! He always gets one glazed donut and one with strawberry icing with sprinkles. While he insists on the sprinkles and frosting, he usually only takes a bite or two out of that one but devours the glazed one.

Clowing around on a Rainy Day

I picked Joshua up early from school today so we could clown around a little bit before Kevin got home. We had a blast. This is a great age and we're really enjoying him. It's still a lot of work, but it's so rewarding!
