Memorial Day Weekend at the Ballgame

We braved it (no pun intended) to the Braves vs. Phillies game on Saturday with the Wrights. All eights of us went. While it was Joshua's second game, it was Luke's first outing to a baseball game. The older boys, Joshua and Tim, had an absolute blast. It was a lot of work for the Dads chasing these two boys around, but well worth it. Ellen and I had the little ones under control - sort of. Of course, Luke had to blow it up while we are there and of course I forgot to bring the changing pad so I had to improvise. All worked out well and he was in a clean diaper in no time - with some minor casualties (e.g. I spilled my beer). On a separate note, Joshua made major strides in his eating this weekend. He ate almost 1/2 a hotdog, took a bite out of p'nut butter adn jelly sandwich and he ate some bread. Ah, the little things that exite us!
Hope ya'll had a good long weekend.

Pool Season Begins

Saturday was our first trip to our n'hood pool. Joshua and Kevin went in the water while Luke and I sat in the shade. The water was on the cool side and I think Kevin was a little disappointed when Joshua wanted to go into the "big boy" pool. Luckily, Joshua thought the water was too cold too and he opted for the baby pool.

Joshua and Luke

Joshua loves holding his little brother and is all about him. We have to keep reminding him to be gentle though - no "popeyeing" baby Luke!

Do they look alike? A little...

After playing at the n'hood park, the Webers came over for more playtime and lunch.

Baby Luke - 1 month old

The newest addition to our family is one month old today. Where has the time gone! It seems like yesterday we were told the news that we'd have to have him earlier than expected. We're quickly getting used to being a four-person family and things are going well minus the sleep deprivation. Joshua is really a good big brother and is turning into quite the helper. He likes to give Luke his pacifier when he's upset, throw away his dirty diapers and put the used bottles in the sink. It's funny, he's already a little protective of him too.

New Easter Pics

These are a little old and the second time I'm posting Easter pictures, but these are from Ellen's (Tim's mom) camera and she takes much better pictures than me. I forgot to mention in previous posts, it was freezing. When we look back on our fun-filled Easter weekend, it's werid to think that baby Luke was born that Monday. Crazy! Below are pictures of Joshua and Tim before the hunt, during the hunt and after the hunt where they are enjoying their findings.

Finally, a foyer table

While Grandma "Sue Anne" was here, we tried to make our home a little less dorm like, and more grown up. With starters, we rearranged our bookshelves so it's not so hodge podge. We hung a bunch of pictures and framed three more to be hung up in the hallway, living room and family room. And most importantly, we now have a true foyer welcoming you as you walk in rather than a sofa table on top of a tv stand, some pictures and an old vase that collected dust rather than invited you into our home.

My mom purchased most of the items from local antique stores. My favorite is the super cool lamp, which is not an antique, and the Persian rug. The chair is pretty neat too and matches the rug well. It's an antique from the 1800s.
